Ladies Guild

The Ladies Guild is always active in the background, catering for kiddushim and chagim parties. The Guild also organises guest speakers and social functions.

League of Jewish Women

The League of Jewish Women is a non-fund-raising voluntary welfare organisation helping people of all ages, regardless of race, religion or ability.

The Bury Group meets monthly in the Eli and Edith Morris Reception Room at the shul.

Members are involved in varied rotas such as Friendship Clubs, Schools,Day Centres, Hospitals,Meals-on-Wheels, and many more.

If you have any time to spare on a regular basis either weekly, fortnightly or monthly to suit and would like to find out more, get in touch with the BURY Group's Cha-chairs, Freda Barnes or Patsy Morris via the shul office..

Gentlemen are now also eligible to join the League - they are called LADS - (League Associate Division).

So put your spare time to good use and brighten someone else's day. Come to one of our meetings and find out how you can become involved in this rewarding and fulfilling organisation. An added bonus is the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

Friendship Club

The Friendship Club is under the chairwomanship of Shirley Bernstein and run by the Bury League of Jewish women meets weekly.

Members play Bingo and cards, enjoy tea, coffee, biscuits and kuchen, and most importantly meet up with friends and spend pleasant afternoon in a warm friendly atmosphere.

Two parties are held during the year with excellent entertainment to celebrate Purim and Chanukah and in the summer months arrange coach outings to places like Southport, York, Chester, Llandudno etc.

All this for 60p a week. What a bargain!

Brownies

The shul is home to it very own Brownie pack which meets regularly to do the things that Brownies do.
